Office of Healthcare Experience and Interoperability (OHEI)
OHEI helps improve patients’ lives by optimizing the delivery of healthcare. We work to reduce healthcare administrative burden and advance interoperability and national standards. We engage with patients and organizations from across the healthcare community to understand their experiences, inform solutions, and infuse a customer-focused mindset throughout CMS.

Customer Engagement & Transparency
We engage with the public through diverse channels and use human-centered design processes to seek insights and ensure those perspectives are reflected in CMS policy and operations.

Health Informatics & Interoperability
We aim to make healthcare data flow more freely and securely among payers, providers, and patients by laying the foundation to foster a more connected healthcare system.

Administrative Simplification
We work to reduce paperwork and administrative burden by adopting and enforcing uniform standards for electronic healthcare transactions.

Open Payments
Empowering consumers with data on financial relationships that pharmaceutical companies, medical device makers, and distributors have with healthcare providers to make informed healthcare choices.
