Highlights:
- In 2022, approximately 15 percent of Medicare beneficiaries living in the community had trouble eating solid food because of problems with their teeth. People with 4 or more chronic conditions were more likely to report trouble eating solid food (20 percent) compared with people with no chronic conditions (10 percent).
- Approximately 4 percent of Medicare beneficiaries had trouble getting dental care because of cost. Individuals under the age of 65 were significantly more likely to have trouble getting dental care because of cost (9 percent) compared with people aged 65 and older.
